so, we have had this tent out in our backporch sunroom since like the beginning of december (from when my family came to visit). and we decided to leave it up because it would be fun to actually camp out there one time. the weather was not cooperating with our idea. not good enough to camp out there. (either too rainy, too windy, or too cold)
... then the turn-0-round happened....
the chemical plant had a scheduled shut down for maintenance.
then comes the end of march (45+ days later). and the turn around was FINALLY done. .. sorta. at least the shift work of 14 hour days/6 days a week was over.

so to celebrate, we camped in our tent! it was actually a last minute idea th

the little babe slept in his own bed inside the house and we set up a monitor to listen for him. after I put the babe down for the night, I came back and found these two sitting ar
ound the "campfire" eating mike'n'ikes and telling stories, one story was about an owl that swoops down. the little boy even made hand motions of the owl swooping. we had popcorn and drank rootbeer and bugjuice.
we finished the night reading there's a nightmare in my closet. and daddy and I watched the first 45 minutes of galaxy quest in the tent before we fell asleep (our sweetie fell asleep within the first 2 minutes). the little boy actually did pretty good sleeping on his mattress next to us. he sure does move around a lot while he sleeps. and he liked to scrunch up so the top of his head was right up against the side of the tent.

I woke up to get the little babe at 6am or so and when I turned around after getting him up from his crib I found the little boy standing in front of me, smiling big, and saying, "hi, mommy. I wake up." he was just so excited about everything he couldn't go back to sleep. we tried to lay back down with him, but he was up and ready to start another party.
It was a way super fun night. and yes, we still have the tent up in the sunroom because the little boy won't let us put it down. I guess we'll just have to campout again another night.
