clean springing

I have totally caught the "spring cleaning bug" lately.   I have been really wanting to organize and clean up things in our house.  it's like this craving that must be fulfilled!
we have been in this house a total of one year and 3 months. and since so much was going on when we first moved in (the holidays just getting over, me being sick with pregnancy, daddy having lots of projects at work, the boy being cute), we didn't really have a chance to totally find out the best place to put our items.  we came from a one-bedroom apartment (with a "study") to a three-bedroom house.  there were a lot of possibilities of where things could go.  and where did most of our I-don't-know-where-these-things-should-go goodies get put when we first moved in?

..... the GARAGE!

this is actually part-way through the cleanup. we are really bad at taking "before" pictures. just imagine a big pile of boxes, sports gear, and camping stuff in the middle where the black shelf sits and then large wood pieces on the left-hand side (window coverings for hurricane protection) and yardwork tools scattered about on the right-hand side.

so, it was the first project that started and fulfilled a bit of the urge. we did it in increments. started on a friday night. did some more on saturday day.  did a little bit each night of the week.  did a last big chunk on the following saturday (daddy's birthday, btw). and finally got rid of the junk and extras on trash days the next week. it was awesome!

we are now actually able to use a garage for what it is actually intended for... well, for some people anyway.
