we had a blast with tons of parties and trick-or-treating this year. it ended up that we had a chance to dress up in costume several times over the halloween holiday. and my my it was a busy one.
our city had a halloween party on thursday at the local museum, we also had a chance to watch daddy's flag football team. friday night, our friends invited us for a halloween celebration at their house. saturday was the monster dash, a children's program practice, and a UIL band competition to watch. sunday was full of treats as rewards for the great job they did with the children's primary presentation (the boy even had his part memorized and sang all of the songs as loud as he knew them). monday's family home evening was pumpkin carving time! and of course we had to watch the 'charlie brown punkin movie' as the boy calls it. tuesday daytime, we had a preschool halloween party at our house. tuesday night, our church put on a trunk-or-treat for just our little group of kids.
and the actual halloween wednesday, we did another trunk-or-treat with families in the area. we then went from that trunk-or-treat to our neighborhood for real trick-or-treats. our neighborhood was packed! full of probably a thousand or more people. we walked around the block. the babe actually only needed to be carried a few times, he sure did a great job trekking from house to house. (and he was the cutest little toadstool I've ever seen).we finished the night with a halloween movie with the chipmunks. (alvin. simon. ... theodore! do do do do do do)
