boys' birthday parties

the birthday parties were totally fun.  we had a mega awesome star wars party for the big boy and a totally cool angry birds star wars party for the little boy.  --- can you tell what we like?

we actually celebrated the big boy's birthday over two days because it fell on a sunday.  so we had a fun starwars family party on saturday with pizza, cake, presents, watching star wars episode IV, and a sleepover in the living room.

the boy really enjoyed opening every present.  he was so excited about each one! and totally grateful for each one, as well.  after every present he opened he would just say thank you over and over and give big hugs. :) awesome.

we decided it was time to have the boys experience the greatness of watching the star wars movie.  and of course, started with the original.  he enjoyed it and daddy paused at moments to make sure everyone was understanding what was going on.  it was fun to share it with them.

the sleepover was great.  we had a blow-up mattress for the boys and one for us.  it ended up with daddy sleeping next to the big boy and the little boy was with me.
the next day we celebrated again with another cake and one more present.  the big boy wanted a pink cake. so we obliged. and it tasted very good.

The little boy's birthday was so much fun, too.  he loves the 'angee burbs star werz" and so we made a party out of that.

he was excited about everything, but mostly about the cake.  we decorated with angry birds and had a real life angry birds battle with setting up blocks and knocking them down with big plush angry birds.

we had pizza, again.  but the little boy was fixed on having cake.  he kept asking, "can I have my cake now?" or "what about my cake?"  and so we got him to do a bit of the other stuff, and quickly got to the cake.  he loved it.

he did enjoy opening his presents.  he wanted to keep opening more.  and big brother wanted to keep giving him more because he was so excited to have them opened. we slept out in the living room again, this time with lots of blankets and cushions.  it was great to celebrate such a great kid!
